Back Pain
Back pain is often associated to RSI’s, or repetitive strain
injuries, in the work place. There are many contributing factors
for back pain, but implementing a few simple tips into your work
day may greatly reduce the risk of back pain. To keep your back
from being strained, here are a few tips to help you:
· Exercise- Yoga and Pilates are great for strengthening
the back and abdominal muscles which support your spine. Just
20 minutes a day can help.
· Good posture, whether you are sitting or standing, is
a good habit to form.
· Make sure anything that can be slipped on, tripped on,
or fallen off are out of harm’s way.
· Avoid standing or sitting for long periods of time.
Taking breaks to walk around the office will help back pain, and
provide a little much needed exercise.
· Use a chair with proper back support. Ergonomically
designed chairs are best.
· If you are lifting something in the office, lift with
your knees, not with your back.
· Maintain a healthy weight. Extra weight can put more
pressure than necessary on back muscles. If you are exercising
to help your back and overall health of your body, then you are
on the right track to loosing weight and preventing serious injuries
associated with weight.
Back pain can be prevented with just a few simple tips to implement
in your daily routine. These tips can take less than an hour to
accomplish each day, which isn’t much time when compared to
the reduction of back pain, and the improvement of overall health.
